Inspired by photographers who post artistic self-portraits (like
Katie West and
Retrogradation (
nudity alert: NSFW), I figured I would try this sometimes too. I find myself particularly drawn to photos that seem to tell a story rather than just "model" shots -- I like the idea of building circumstances around a scene: what are they thinking? What are they doing? -- and hope to play with this a bit.
Patrick Calder does this too, but with other people, not self-portraits. His shots depict people
doing things, a moment frozen in time. It's simply lovely.
